The North West Forum on Ageing

We are a regional strategic partnership focused on the issues facing people aged 50 and over.  The partnership brings together a range of public, voluntary and private sector organisations.  We exist to ensure that the implications of demographic change are addressed by policy and decision makers and that more people living longer, healthier lives is seen as a real opportunity for the region.

The partnership was the first to be launched in the country in 2003.  We are regarded as pioneering, having taken a strong economic inclusion focus in the North West rather than solely challenging traditional health or social exclusion issues.

On our site, you can find more details about the partnership and its members, find the latest news items about mid life and older people, reference and resource reports, and learn more about the kind of work we do and one of our key priorities, to drive forward the recommendations of the new Regional Framework for Ageing for the North West.

Acting on behalf of Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) as the lead organisation for the region, 5050vision - the North West Forum on Ageing, commissioned the development of a Regional Framework for Ageing for the North West and appointed Ogranisation Development Services (ODS) to develop the Framework with us and our partners; Government Office for the North West (GONW), 4NorthWest (4NW), National Health Service North West (NHS NW), Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP), Age Concern (AC) and Help the Aged (HtA).
